Jones elected South Carolina Bankers Association chairman

Boyd B. Jones, Senior Director, Middle Market Corporate Banking, Synovus, has been elected chairman of The South Carolina Bankers Association (SCBA). He was elected by a vote of SCBA members at their annual meeting and will begin serving a one-year term on July 1, 2023.

An industry expert with over 40 years of experience in commercial banking, Boyd has fostered and built many strong relationships and teams. Throughout his tenure at Synovus, he has successfully led different disciplines and geographic areas within South Carolina, making significant contributions to the company’s operations and growth.

Jones succeeds Fleetwood S. Hassell, president and chief executive officer of The Bank of South Carolina Corporation and its subsidiary Bank of South Carolina.

Jones received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. He also graduated from the South Carolina Bankers School, as well as the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University.
