Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina to consolidate with Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina

September 16, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina and Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina have been proud to serve local youth for the last 47 and 49 years with JA programs. The Board of Directors of both chapters have decided to consolidate operations effective September 1, 2015 to better serve the students of South Carolina. This consolidation will enable operational efficiencies so that Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina can leverage existing constituent relationships with a goal of reaching more than 13,000 students in over 31 counties with JA’s work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs.

“We are excited about the opportunity to combine forces with the Columbia chapter to ensure that we are as efficient as possible and can maximize our impact in South Carolina. The young people of this state will be the key beneficiaries of this merge, and we look forward to paving new roads together.”

– Paige Yeater, JA South Carolina Coastal Board of Directors Chair

“As we think about the future of South Carolina, it is important that we invest every dollar possible that we can to insure a bright tomorrow. Junior Achievement of Central South Carolina is excited to consolidate operations with the Coastal region of Junior Achievement to maximize opportunities for the future of our state. We plan to impact more than 13,000 students, using everyday business men and women to teach our programs on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness. This is a true effort of collaboration, with the future of South Carolina being our main focus.”

-Mze Wilkins, JA Central South Carolina Board of Directors Chair
