Junior League of Greenville Announces Recipients of 2014 Membership Awards

Three Junior League of Greenville members receive highest honors for demonstrating extraordinary service to the Junior League of Greenville and to the Greenville community

GREENVILLE, SC – The Junior League of Greenville announced their 2014 Membership Award recipients during the 85th Annual Meeting of the Junior League of Greenville, held on May 13, 2014. Three awards are presented annually to members of the League who demonstrate above and beyond service to the Junior League of Greenville and to the Greenville community.

The recipient of the 2014 Jane Cardwell Hughes Sustainer of the Year Award is Caroline Stewart. This award is given to one sustaining member who demonstrates outstanding dedication and service to the Junior League of Greenville and the community.  Jean has been a member of the Junior League of Greenville for 14 years. She has served the League in many capacities, including Sustaining Advisor.

The recipient of the 2014 Frances Pearce Steele Provisional of the Year Award is Jaime Langel Cramer. This award is given to one provisional member who goes above and beyond her provisional requirements and demonstrates outstanding dedication and service. Cramer has served the League by volunteering at the Junior League’s Nearly New Shop as well as taking advantage of every experience and opportunity made available to her.

The recipients of the 2014 Helen Horton Hunt Active of the Year Award Meg Reid and Ashley Livingston. This Award is given to one active member for outstanding volunteer service beyond her membership requirements and demonstrating voluntarism at its best, however this year the League chose both of these women. Reid served as the E-Communications Chair and Livingston as Vice Chair. They were given the tasks of managing the volunteer and donor databases as well as overseeing the building of a new website.

The Junior League of Greenville is the first Presidents of Large Leagues (POLL) League within the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) to set award criteria for their membership awards. Award nominees were graded against specific criteria for each award. The Award Selection Committees met, nominees were reviewed against criteria score, and a recipient was selected for each area of membership.
