Katie Houser named Interim Principal at Midland Park Primary School

Charleston County School District (CCSD) is proud to announce that Katie Houser is returning to CCSD and has been named Interim Principal at Midland Park Primary School. With over 25 years in education, she is eager to share her passion and desire to educate and support every child in achieving college, career, and citizenship readiness.

Houser returns to CCSD from the College of Charleston, where she served as the Director of the College of Charleston’s N.E. Miles Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC). Prior to such, she served the district in a variety of roles, including International Baccalaureate Curriculum leader, Instructional Resource Teacher, Lead teacher, and National Board Certified classroom teacher.

As Academic Program Director of ECDC, Houser cultivated a community of learners in young children, preservice teachers, and master teachers to develop a sense of belonging that reflects the diversity of the community and children served. In this role, Houser was dedicated to honoring individuality and building staff capacity to deliver high-quality teaching practices for all children.
