KEMET Selects Immedion for Disaster Recovery Planning and Data Center Services

GREENVILLE, SC – January 11, 2011 – KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM), a leading manufacturer of capacitors, today announced they have selected Immedion LLC to provide data center and managed services as part of an enhanced disaster recovery plan. Immedion, with locations in both Greenville and Columbia, is South Carolina’s first dedicated data center and managed services provider.
Prior to selecting Immedion, KEMET had a traditional disaster recovery plan through a third-party vendor. The plan was costly, static and difficult to work with. KEMET sought the benefits of a second data center location to complement their current infrastructure. They wanted a solution they could test on their own time schedule, have ownership of and one that would ultimately be more cost effective and reliable.
After going through a stringent vendor analysis, which included six potential providers, KEMET selected Immedion. “We undertook this large project to support our business growth, reduce costs, and improve our flexibility.” reflects Brian Burch, KEMET’s Director of World Wide Infrastructure. “We needed something flexible for our current disaster recovery and testing needs as well as something that would accommodate and support our future growth.
