Key West Boats donates custom boat to Dorchester County Fire Rescue

June 4, 2024

Dorchester County Fire Rescue is proud to announce the generous donation of a custom-built Key West 197 Skiff “FD” edition from Key West Boats in Ridgeville, SC. This state-of-the-art vessel, equipped with a 90 HP Yamaha 4-stroke outboard motor, Garmin side scan sonar and GPS, a custom-made diver platform, and 360-degree search and rescue lighting, will significantly enhance the Marine Division’s capabilities on our local waterways.

This donation, driven by the dedication and hard work of Niki Holseberg from Key West Boats, was a year-long project in collaboration with DCFR Battalion Chief Hans Button. Their combined efforts have resulted in a valuable addition to our emergency response resources, ensuring quality service for the citizens of Dorchester County.

Designated as Boat 402, the vessel will immediately enter service, patrolling and responding to emergencies on our local waterways. Boat 402 made its debut at a multi-agency drill with the SC-HART team and several other local and state agencies today, June 4.

The Dorchester County Fire Rescue Marine Division extends its gratitude to Key West Boats and Niki Holseberg for their commitment to improving emergency services in our community.
