Kids’ College and Teen University 2016 Summer Camps open for registrations

Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development is accepting registrations for the 2016 Kids’ College (Ages 7-11) and Teen University (Ages 12-17) summer camps. The innovative series at Trident Technical College inspires, educates and engages students, by featuring fun and educational offerings in subject areas including college prep, computer technology, leadership skills, young professionals, creative arts, culinary, baking and pastry as well as math and science. Each camp runs for a five-day period, meeting three-and-a-half hours each day (8:30 a.m.-noon or 1-4:30 p.m.) and costs from $99 to $199 per camp. Camps are offered in five locations around the Lowcountry from June 13 to Aug. 5, 2016. Almost 1,300 students participated in the 2015 programs.

  • HOLLYWOOD: Trident Technical College St. Paul’s Parish Site hosts camps for 7 to 11-year-olds from June 27-July 22 at 5231 Hwy. 165 in Hollywood. Camps will be available in computer technology and creative arts. For ages 7-11, offerings include: Jumping into Minecraft – Beginner; Drawing FUNdamentals; Animation Exploration; Aviation Adventures; and Mathematical Maniacs! For ages 8-11: Cybersecurity.   • MONCKS CORNER: Trident Technical College Berkeley Campus hosts camps for 8 to 17-year-olds from June 20-July 29 at 1001 S. Live Oak Dr. (Highway 17-A) in Moncks Corner. For ages 8-11, offerings include: Gamestar Mechanic – Beginner and Cybersecurity. For ages 12-17: Alice 3-D and Video Games and Kodu – Intermediate.   • MOUNT PLEASANT: Trident Technical College Mount Pleasant Campus hosts camps for 7 to 17-year-olds from June 20-July 29 at 1125 John Dilligard Lane in Mount Pleasant. For ages 7-8, offerings include: LEGOs in Motion and Strategic Board Games – Beginner. For ages 7-11: A Bug’s Life; Amazing Artist; Animation Exploration; Aviation Adventures; Code Crashers; Jumping into Minecraft – Beginner; Junior CSI Investigator; MaKey MaKey Musical Wires; Mathematical Maniacs!; Mind Your Manners; Minecraft Art – Intermediate; Percussion – Beginner; Playtec Robotics; and Reading, Writing and Storytelling. For ages 9-11: Let Go of My LEGOs! For ages 12-16: Safe Sitter. For ages 12-17: Alice 3-D and Video Games; Mindstorms EV3 Robotics – Advanced; Mindstorms EV3 Robotics – Intermediate; and Strategic Board Games – Advanced. For ages 13-17: SAT/ACT Prep: Math and SAT/ACT Prep: Reading and Writing. For ages 14-17: Pre-calculus.   • NORTH CHARLESTON: Trident Technical College Main Campus hosts 90 different camps for 7 to 17-year-olds from June 13-Aug. 5 at 7000 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. Camps will be available in subject areas such as college prep, computer technology, leadership skills, young professionals, creative arts, culinary, baking and pastry as well as math and science. For ages 7-11, offerings include: Drawing FUNdamentals; Jumping into Minecraft – Beginner; and Science Whiz Kids. For ages 8-11: Cybersecurity. For ages 12-17: This Isn’t Your Grandma’s Sewing Class.
