Kids Day at Musgrove Mill

Come on out to Kid’s Day at Musgrove Mill State Historic Site. Kid’s Day will run from 10:00am-12:00pm and is designed for kids ages 8-14. The kids will be taken on a one-hour Ranger guided hike of the 1-mile British Encampment Trail where they will learn about the history of the Battle of Musgrove Mill, the history of the South Carolina Backcountry, nature, and trail safety. After the hike the kids will join the Patriot militia and learn to make paper cartridges, drill with wooden muskets, and how to load a musket. The price for this program will be $10.00 a child due upon arrival, however space will be limited so reservations are required. An adult chaperone is required to remain on site during the entire program. You must register by 5:00pm at least two days before the day of the program by either emailing the park at [email protected] or calling at 864-938-0100. Please bring bottled water, and wear appropriate shoes and clothing for hiking and the weather.

The event will be held on Saturday, September 18th from 10 am – 12 pm. Registration is requested and the deadline is Thursday. Those attending should meet at the Musgrove Mill Visitor Center. Cost is $10 per person.  Participants should bring water, wear comfortable clothes and shoes for hiking and the weather.
