K&L Gates’ Charleston office welcomes new associate

K&L Gates’ Charleston office welcomed a new associate to the firm.

Mr. S. Cooper Hawley joins the Charleston office as an associate in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions practice group.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Hawley was an associate in the finance group of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP based in New York. His practice focused on representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, credit funds, investor consortiums, and other private and public companies in a wide variety of financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, debt investments, and restructurings. Mr. Hawley received his BS from Cornell University and his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was an Editorial Staff Member on the Wake Forest Law Review. He is among the more than 160 lawyers who have joined the firm since January 2021, and 3 lawyers who have joined the Charleston office since January 2021.
