Kristen Beckham joins Pine Gate Renewables as new Director of Government and External Affairs

Pine Gate Renewables announced that it has hired a new strategic engagement and communications expert to join its regulatory and government affairs team, continuing the company’s goal of forging partnerships to expand its nationwide renewable energy footprint. Pine Gate Renewables, a national utility-scale renewable energy company, recently named Kristen Beckham as its Director of Government and External Affairs. She brings nearly 15 years of advocacy and external affairs experience to the Pine Gate team.
As the Director of Government and External Affairs, Kristen will support the company’s mission to “get solar done” by managing state legislative and stakeholder relationships as well as strategic media relations. In this role, Kristen will help advance the company’s purpose of providing renewable energy to local communities, driving economic growth, and creating good paying jobs.
Kristen lives in Columbia, South Carolina and joined the company in June 2022. She earned her MBA from the University of Georgia and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. She previously worked in external and government relations for major U.S. utilities where she developed industry and project-specific coalitions, including work that led to the largest utility acquisition in South Carolina history; the successful execution of major Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulated projects; and the launch of two energy companies in South Carolina.
