Labon establishing first U.S. facility In South Carolina

Labon, a leading technical fiber and textile manufacturer, is establishing its first operations in South Carolina. The Orangeburg County project is expected to bring $3.1 million in capital investment and lead to the creation of 23 new jobs.

Established in Shanghai in 2005, Labon specializes in the research, development and manufacturing of technical fibers and textiles for use across a variety of applications, including sealing, friction, hand protection and flame-retardant products.

To launch its first operations in the U.S., Labon has purchased a 15,700-square-foot facility, which will utilize raw materials to produce fibers. Located at 122 Industrial Boulevard in Orangeburg, S.C., the company’s new facility is projected to be operational by January 2017. This development will allow us, not only to accommodate our continued business growth, but better serve our customers as well,” Labon General Manager Hongxin Chen.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.
