Lady Devils Remain Perfect

March 15, 2021

On Friday night the Lady Red Devils brought home another win.

Freshman Lauren Wargo and Sophomore Reese Gowan had another excellent night in the attacking half.  Their greatest contribution to the match was their unselfish play and ball distribution. They stuck to the game plan and used excellent passing and timing to involve all of our attackers while
passing up on several scoring opportunities (Coach’s orders). Together they still managed to score 4 goals, 3 for Lauren and 1 for Reese to cap off a 7-1 victory over Abbeville.  Other scorers were Freshmen Riley Gowan (2) and Morgan Benson (1).

The defense lived up to their stingy reputation only giving up one goal for game winning and first time keeper Sophomore Rachel Vondergeest.  The defense suffered an early 1st half injury to their starting Full Back Gray Gardner but Defensive Player of the Game, Sophomore Autumn Hill stepped in and played an excellent match.

Clinton now prepares to enter Region play next Wednesday as they face off with the Emerald Vikings in Greenwood.
