COLUMBIA, SC – Laser Beatles is Back during Second Shift Twosday, Feb. 2

Experience Laser Beatles: Across the Universe in the South Carolina State Museum’s BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Planetarium this Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m.  This 40 minute full dome planetarium laser show features a compilation of brilliant laser lights choreographed to legendary Beatles songs. Laser Beatles: Across the Universe will play every Tuesday in February at 7 p.m. Please note: Laser shows contain bright, flashing lights that may cause discomfort to those with light sensitivity or other pre-existing conditions.

The entire museum is always open during Second Shift Twosdays, which takes place every Tuesday evening from 5 – 8 p.m.  Visit scmuseum.org to learn more.

 

$1 General Admission during First Citizens First Sunday this Sunday, Feb. 7

General admission to the South Carolina State Museum is only $1 for guests during First Citizens First Sunday, which takes place from 12 – 5 p.m. this Sunday, Feb. 7.  Guests can explore the museum’s four floors of South Carolina art, cultural history, natural history and science/technology, including the new Boeing Observatory.

 

Sensory Friendly Day, Next Monday, February 8

Sensory Friendly Day at the museum is a day for schools and families with special needs. On this day visitors will be able to enjoy a less crowded environment, designated quiet areas, light and sound reduction when possible, and extra staff and volunteers in the exhibits. Regular museum admission and regular show admission required. South Carolina students and teachers receive free admission if pre-registered with their school.
