October 21, 2026
Laurens County Community Theatre’s production of “The Addams Family” enters its final weekend, giving theatergoers three more opportunities to see the musical comedy that opened the theater’s 2026-27 season.
The show opened Friday, Oct. 16, and audiences from last weekend’s performances have responded with high praise for the production. Theatergoers have applauded the cast’s vocal talent, comedic timing and energy, as well as the costumes, makeup and staging that bring the macabre and lovable Addams clan to life on the Clinton High School stage.
Remaining performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Oct. 23. The production closes with a 3 p.m. matinee Saturday, Oct. 24.
All performances take place at the Clinton High School Auditorium, 18132 Highway 72 E., Clinton. Tickets are available online at LCCT.net or at the door.
Based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams, the musical follows a grown Wednesday Addams who has fallen in love with a young man from a perfectly respectable and ordinary family. When the two families meet for dinner, the evening quickly turns into a string of surprising and comedic moments.
The Addams family has entertained audiences for generations through film and television, but the musical, which premiered on Broadway in 2010, marked the family’s first appearance on stage.
Valerie Jones directs the production, with music direction by Amy Link.
Gemma Gearheart stars as Morticia, with Emma Dula as Wednesday and Pat Young as Grandmama. Link appears as Alice Beineke, mother of the young man who has won Wednesday’s heart, and Lesslie Blakely plays Uncle Fester, the lovesick relative who helps guide the story. LCCT veterans Silas Schiera and Randy Randall also appear in the show.
A chorus of Addams Ancestors, family members summoned back from beyond the grave, is played by Amy Blakely, Dana Caldwell, Ellis Corley, Elizabeth Davidson, Adela Donnelly, Lacresha Dowdy, Lillie Jones, Sullivan Lanford, Trey Simmons, Cadence Stone, Braxton Thomas and Sophia Zwan.
With the Halloween season in full swing, the production offers a fitting outing for families and friends. Those who have not yet seen the show are encouraged to purchase tickets soon before the curtain falls for the final time Saturday afternoon.
