Lauren Smith Joins Laurens County Extension as New 4-H Agent

Laurens County Cooperative Extension has announced that Lauren Smith has officially joined the team as the new Laurens County 4-H Agent. Smith’s first day was Monday, March 3, 2025, and she is eager to begin working with local youth and families.

Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University. She brings valuable experience to the position, having served as the Outdoor Program Manager for the Girl Scouts of South Carolina – Mountains to Midlands. In that role, Smith developed and led over 40 programs each year and was responsible for hiring and training seasonal staff.

Community members are invited to welcome Smith during a Meet-and-Greet event on Thursday, March 6, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Laurens Extension Office. All are encouraged to stop by and say hello.
