Laurens County 911 Marks Milestone: Successful CPR Save Achieved Following EMD Implementation

Laurens County 911 proudly announces its first successful CPR save since the implementation of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols on June 27, 2023.

December 13th, 2023, Honesty Godfrey, a 911 dispatcher, exhibited exceptional skill and professionalism during a critical emergency call, ultimately saving a life.

During the distressing call, a male caller reported that a female on site was unresponsive and experiencing cardiac arrest. Responding with promptness and clarity, Honesty Godfrey maintained composure and provided life-saving instructions for a duration of 7 minutes and 43 seconds, guiding the caller through CPR procedures.

The situation intensified when a Laurens County Deputy swiftly arrived on the scene and seamlessly took over compressions. This collaborative effort ensured continuous support until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel arrived.

Thanks to the coordinated response and the decisive actions of both Honesty Godfrey and the responding Deputy, the patient received vital care upon the arrival of EMS. Through their combined efforts, the patient was successfully resuscitated, marking a significant milestone for Laurens County 911 and underscoring the importance of effective emergency dispatch protocols.
