Laurens County Animal Shelter Seeking Volunteers to Help Care for Dogs
February 11, 2025The Laurens County Animal Shelter is in urgent need of volunteers to help provide care, companionship, and support for the many dogs in its care. With a growing number of animals arriving at the shelter, staff members work tirelessly to meet their needs, but there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to give each dog the attention they deserve.
If you love dogs, are at least 18 years old, and are comfortable being around dogs of all sizes, the shelter would love to have you join their team of volunteers. Opportunities include:
🐾 Walking and exercising the dogs
🐾 Providing love and companionship through petting and playtime
🐾 Playing fetch and engaging in enrichment activities
🐾 Helping with transport to veterinary appointments, rescues, or foster homes
🐾 Fostering dogs in need of temporary homes
Flexible volunteer opportunities allow you to give as much or as little time as you can. Whether it’s a few hours a week or a regular commitment, every moment spent with these animals makes a difference. This is also a great way to earn community service hours for high school, college, or other service projects.
If you’re interested in volunteering, visit Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Volunteer Form to sign up and make a difference in the lives of shelter dogs.
