Laurens County Community Foundation Names William Ferguson as Their New Chairman of the Board
April 30, 2025The Laurens County Community Foundation (LCCF) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has elected William Ferguson as their new Chairman of the Board. Mr. Ferguson has served on the LCCF Board of Directors as a Board Member and on the Finance Committee for multiple terms. Robin Day, Executive Director said, “William Ferguson brings a wealth of experience that is critical to the organization as LCCF moves to implement its strategic plan and further its goal to be a trusted partner for the community.”
William Ferguson recently retired from a 40 year career in community banking and is an active volunteer and leader in Laurens County. He has served on the Board of Directors of multiple local organizations, including serving as the Clinton Chairman of the Clinton Economic Development Corporation and as Treasurer of the Laurens County Forest and Land Owners Association. William and his wife also serve as volunteer coordinators of the United Ministries’ Food Pantry and are active members of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, all which reflect his strong dedication to our community. After the last LCCF Board meeting, Ferguson said, “I’m honored to serve as Chair for the Laurens County Community Foundation. This is a powerful opportunity to build on the incredible work of outgoing Chairman, Booker Ingram, and the Board of Directors. The Laurens County Community Foundation is proud to assist local churches, nonprofits, and individuals or groups wishing to invest in existing charitable funds or to establish new funds. With almost $10 million of assets under management, we oversee a diversified portfolio and provide prudent investment management. We also invest in our community through grant programs, scholarships, and educational events to promote philanthropy and local charities.
Robert (Bob) Link Jr was elected Vice Chair, Karen Mattison continues as Treasurer and Tara Webb will continue as Secretary. The LCCF Board of Directors are a committed volunteer force of outstanding citizens in Laurens County with backgrounds in the areas of finance, law, business, education, public policy, and philanthropy. These men and women are uniquely qualified to continue to build upon the valuable mission and vision of the Laurens County Community Foundation and ensure that LCCF remains a well-governed, fiscally sound, and highly effective organization.
The Community Foundation works with donors and fund holders towards achieving their philanthropic goals in our community with the creation of self-directed legacies, grants, and scholarships which are invested and designed to last forever.
