Laurens County Fair Foundation opens grant applications for 2026-28 cycle

The Laurens County Fair Foundation is now accepting grant applications from Laurens County nonprofit organizations for its 2026-28 grant cycle. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2026.

Any 501(c)(3) organization based in Laurens County is eligible to apply. In 2026, the foundation awarded a total of $106,503 in grants to local organizations.

The foundation traces its roots to the Laurens County Fair Association, which was organized Aug. 30, 1938. Over the decades, the group has supported a wide range of community causes, including agricultural education, efforts to reduce child abuse and neglect, Little League baseball and local law enforcement. For the upcoming cycle, the foundation has broadened its focus to include any project or program that benefits the residents of Laurens County.

Applicants must include a copy of their IRS 501(c)(3) confirmation letter, as requests from organizations without that status will not be considered. The application also asks for information about the organization’s leadership, board, budget and recent fundraising, along with the amount requested and how the funds would benefit Laurens County. The full list of application questions is available in the foundation’s Facebook post.

Completed applications may be mailed to the Laurens County Fair Foundation, P.O. Box 37, Laurens, SC 29360, or emailed to [email protected]. All applications must be received on or before Dec. 31, 2026.

Grant funds will be distributed in the spring of 2027, and recipients will be required to submit final reports by May 31, 2028.

Questions about the grant program may be directed to Connie Daniels at [email protected].
