Laurens County School District 56 Child Nutrition Director Cindy Jacobs Named 2026 Director of the Year
April 14, 2026Laurens County School District 56 is celebrating one of its own after Cindy Jacobs, Child Nutrition Director for District 56, was named the 2026 Director of the Year by the School Nutrition Association of South Carolina.
The prestigious recognition honors outstanding leadership and service in school nutrition programs across the state of South Carolina.
Representatives from the association surprised Jacobs with the award during a special presentation surrounded by colleagues, district leadership, family members, and supporters.
According to the School Nutrition Association of South Carolina, Jacobs was selected for her leadership, dedication, and passion for ensuring students have access to nutritious and high-quality meals each day.
“Cindy’s leadership, dedication, and passion for ensuring students have access to nutritious and delicious meals makes a difference every single day,” the organization shared in announcing the award. “This recognition is incredibly well deserved.”
Jacobs oversees the child nutrition program for Laurens County School District 56, where she works to ensure students across the district receive healthy meals that support learning and well-being.
District leaders and colleagues joined in celebrating the honor, recognizing Jacobs for her commitment to serving students and her continued leadership within the school nutrition profession.
