Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Exceeds Goal at ‘Fill the Cruiser’ School Supply Drive
July 12, 2026The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office surpassed its fundraising goal at its recent “Fill the Cruiser” school supply drive, gathering supplies and donations to help local students head back to class ready to learn.
The office set out to raise $3,000 for the effort and reported that community generosity pushed the total past that mark. Contributions arrived in the form of both school supplies and monetary gifts from residents and businesses across the county.
The office recognized several sponsors for their support of the drive, including Chick-fil-A, American Legion Post 25, AP Electrical Service, L&L Office Supply, American Legion Post 56 and Alan Rickard. Officials said the willingness of local supporters to invest in the county’s children makes a lasting difference.
“The response from our community was overwhelming,” said Courtney Snow, public information officer for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. “We set a goal, and the people of Laurens County blew right past it. Every donation, whether it was supplies or a monetary gift, goes straight back to the children who are getting ready to start a new school year. We are grateful to every business and neighbor who stepped up.”
The office also thanked everyone who donated, shared the event, volunteered or stopped by to lend their support, noting that the combined effort means more children will start the school year prepared, confident and ready to learn.
Donations of school supplies will continue to be accepted through this week and there is a need for additional clear back packs. Community members who wish to contribute may drop off supplies at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office in Laurens.
