Laurens Police Department to Celebrate National Night Out with Community Event
September 11, 2024The Laurens Police Department is gearing up for its annual National Night Out, set to take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Laurens Public Square. The event, which fosters police-community partnerships, aims to enhance relationships between law enforcement and the community while promoting neighborhood camaraderie.
National Night Out is a yearly tradition across the country, designed to bring together residents and public safety officials in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Attendees can expect a variety of activities, including games, food, music, and the opportunity to meet with local police officers and first responders.
Chief Heath Copeland of the Laurens Police Department expressed the importance of events like National Night Out in strengthening ties with the community.
“This event allows us to connect with the people we serve in a meaningful way,” said Copeland. “It’s an opportunity to build trust, have open conversations, and show our residents that we’re all working together to make Laurens a safer place to live.”
