Law Enforcement Leaders Throw Support Behind Felix for Sheriff

February 9, 2015
COLUMBIA, SC – Ed Felix picked up endorsements from key law enforcement advocates in the race for Lexington County Sheriff.
Doug Wright, Director of the National Criminal Enforcement Association (NCEA) and Victor Webster, Founder of the Law Enforcement Advocacy Foundation (LEAF), were happy to throw their support behind Felix.
“As believers in a strong, well-trained and well-prepared law enforcement team – we know that Ed Felix has the leadership skills, experience and professionalism necessary to lead a large force in such a diverse and growing county,” the two said. “We wholeheartedly support Ed Felix and encourage all Lexington County citizens to do the same.”
Wright said that Felix’s “proven record as an instructor, military leader and law enforcement professional make him the ideal choice to lead a Sheriff’s Department.” He added “Ed’s emphasis and track record on professionalism and thorough investigation will certainly shine through in day-to-day operations. In this situation, Ed brings the best ethical foundation you could expect for any case or investigation.”
Webster is sold on Felix’s dedication to re-prioritizing resources to law enforcement on the community’s roads and neighborhoods:
“His plans are to get more deputies back in the field with the resources they need. Well-qualified deputies don’t need to be behind desks doing administrative duties and paperwork. They need to be patroling roads and responding to all parts of the jurisdiction in a timely manner.”
“His plan puts deputies back on the street with the resources they need while allowing others to do clerical work. Veterans love the Felix plan that offers them employment. The Felix plan re-allocates resources so it doesn’t cost taxpayers another penny.”
Felix is honored to have the support:
“The people of Lexington county are looking for a return to ethics and integrity. The support of people that believe in those same principles is a great benchmark. The coalition of support we have gotten is humbling. Together, we will regain the trust of our citizens.”
