LawyerLisa attorney earns certification in Elder Law

April 19, 2016

The National Elder Law Foundation (NELF) – the only organization approved by the American Bar Association to offer certification in the area of elder law – has announced that Lisa Hostetler of Columbia, SC has successfully completed its examination and qualifications leading to such certification and is now a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). She joins only 4 other attorneys in South Carolina to receive this certification.

Certification in elder law – one of the fastest growing fields in the legal profession – will provide a measure of assurance to the public that the attorney has an in-depth working knowledge of the legal issues that impact the elderly. Elder Law is the legal practice of counseling and representing older persons and their representatives about the legal aspects of health and long-term care planning, public benefits, surrogate decision-making, legal capacity, the conservation and disposition of assets, and the applicable tax consequences.

Lisa Hostetler, Managing Attorney of LawyerLisa in Columbia, SC is now a Certified Elder Law Attorney. Lisa focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law, special needs trusts, contract review, guardianships, conservatorships, probate litigation, and commercial and residential real estate law. Lisa is a graduate of Bethany College, WV and the University of South Carolina School of Law and has been a resident of Columbia, SC since 2004.
