LCSO Jail and Bail Fundraiser this Friday

May 4, 2022

The annual “Jail and Bail” fundraiser for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is this Friday.

The event is the largest fundraiser for the sheriff’s office and the proceeds are used to support their Christmas for Kids program.  In 2021 the event raised  over $18,000. In prior years the event raised $10,000-$15,000.

Each year the LCSO provides Christmas assistance to hundreds of Laurens County families to help bring some Christmas to the children. The needs have increased for this program and requires donations from the community in addition to the funds raised by the “Jail and Bail” event.

The community can help raise the money in a fun event on and what better way to raise on the Historic Square with community members and leaders. This year’s Jail and Bail event will take place on Friday, May 6th from 9AM to 4PM at the Historic Courthouse on the Laurens Square. Rain date will be May 20th.So how does it work?

Participants set a goal “bail” for themselves, minimum of $100. You can start raising your bail donation money at any point leading up to the event. If you make your bail, you avoid going to “jail” the day of the event. Yes, you can still stop by for your “mugshot” picture! If you don’t make your bail ahead of time, then you can attempt to meet your goal by calling friends and family members to secure pledges on site. You choose which time of day works best for you and drop in…we can even make arrangements for a deputy to pick you up!

“We are excited to continue this annual event and we look forward to seeing participants, both new and repeat offenders,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for the LCSO.

Are you ready to go to raise your bail or go to jail for a great cause?
