LCSO Jail and Bail Round Up

May 8, 2022

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) annual “Jail and Bail” fundraiser was a great success despite the threat of bad weather on Friday.

Community leaders, business owners, county council representatives and citizens came out to support the event and help raise money for the Christmas for Kids program.

At end of the day, the weather did not dampen the generosity of Laurens County residents who contributed bail money for those put in jail.

“We had such an amazing response from the community and despite the threat of bad weather there was a great turnout,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for LCSO.  “We are thankful for all who participated.”

With money collected and pledges, the LCSO raised over $18,000.  In 2021 the event raised over $18,000 and in prior years the total ranged from $10,000-$15,000.

Walter Hughes of Sadler Hughes Apothecary in Clinton was this year’s top fundraiser bringing in more than $2,800 in “bail money.”
