LCSO Making Christmas Happen for Hundreds of Kids

December 7, 2022

Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) staff and volunteers served as Santa’s helpers on Monday.

The shopping spree at the Laurens Walmart was part of the LCSO Christmas for Kids program. After fundraising for most of the year and raising approximately $18,000, Christmas is drawing near so it was time to start shopping for the more than 250 children who have been submitted for the program.

Students from Laurens Preparatory Academy volunteered and partnered with LCSO staff members to shop for the children. “It was a great day of shopping for children in need and we appreciate having students from Laurens Preparatory and other volunteers there to assist us,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer for the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. “Because of the generosity of so many in Laurens County, we are able to make Christmas happen for children in need. Many lived have been touched, especially ours.”
