LCSO Raises Over $5K for Student School Supplies

August 15, 2022

A few morning showers didn’t put a damper on the school supply drive hosted by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

The event took place on Friday, August 12 at the Laurens Chick fil-A. The community came out throughout the day bringing supplies or cash donations. The event raised more than $5000 to provide school supplies to youth across the county.

The following day approximately 100 kids came out to pick up school supplies.  Much of the supplies purchased through the donations are divided up and distributed to schools across the county.

“We are thankful to everyone in the community who donated to our school supply drive,” said Courtney Snow, Public Information Officer. “We want every child in Laurens County to start their school year off with needed supplies.”
