Sergeant Amanda Alexander of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) was recently recognized by Governor McMaster for saving a life by administering the overdose reversal drug naloxone in an emergency situation.

Governor McMaster presented a symbolic challenge coin to each law enforcement officer who has administered naloxone and stated that South Carolina is truly made greater by the dedication and efforts of our state’s law enforcement officers.

“All of our deputies are trained and prepared to do anything possible to save a life,” said Sheriff Don Reynolds. “We are proud of Sergeant Alexander for taking the actions she did in an emergency situation.”
