LCWSC Begins Maddens Tank Renovation to Support Long-Term Water System Reliability
April 15, 2026The Laurens County Water and Sewer Commission (LCWSC) has begun interior renovation work on Maddens Tank this week as part of its ongoing commitment to maintaining safe and reliable water infrastructure across the county.
The project is expected to take approximately three to five weeks and will primarily impact customers in the Maddens Tank service area, who may notice slight fluctuations in water pressure while the tank is temporarily offline.
According to LCWSC Executive Director Jeff Field, the maintenance is a proactive step to ensure the long-term reliability of the system.
“Routine maintenance like this allows us to protect water quality, extend the life of critical infrastructure, and ensure dependable service for our customers well into the future,” said Field.
The interior renovation process will include cleaning and recoating the tank, removing built-up sediment, and taking steps to prevent corrosion—work that plays a key role in maintaining water clarity, taste, and overall system reliability.
“This kind of maintenance is critical to protecting the quality of our water and ensuring we can continue to provide dependable service to our customers,” said Damas Mattison, Regulatory Compliance and Operations Manager.
While customers may notice temporary changes in water pressure during the maintenance period, LCWSC emphasized that the improvements are necessary to keep the system operating at its best.
Customers in the Maddens Tank service area who experience significant water pressure issues are encouraged to contact LCWSC’s 24/7 customer service line at 864-682-3250.
