May 17, 2023

Thornwell, LushArces Farm, the City of Clinton, Presbyterian College, and Food Lion are partnering to host a community canned food drive from May 19 – 26.

“We are so grateful to have the opportunity to give back and make a difference in our community. It’s an honor to be a part of Thornwell’s meaningful mission, and we are excited to see what positive outcomes we can create together,” said Jacob Koch, Director of LushAcres Farm. “We hope our efforts will make a lasting impact on those in need, and we look forward to continuing our work in the future.”

The food drive will support “Gleaning Day,” June 27 which is a service day supporting area families facing summer food insecurity by providing boxes of fresh produce, canned goods, and healthy meal ideas.

Items needed include:

  • Canned vegetables
  • 1 lb. bags of rice
  • Canned Soups (vegetable, healthy and condensed)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder

Members of the community are encouraged to participate by purchasing and dropping off items at the Food Lion in Clinton.
