COLUMBIA, SC – June 13, 2008 – Eleven Nexsen Pruet attorneys have been named among the top legal practitioners in their fields in the 2008 edition of the Chambers USA Guide, and four of the firm’s practice areas were rated in South Carolina.

The publication cited:

● Vickie Eslinger for General Commercial Litigation;

● David Gossett  for Real Estate;

● Mark Knight  for Corporate / Mergers and Acquisitions;

● Marc Manos for General Commercial Litigation

● Ed Menzie for both Corporate / Mergers and Acquisitions and Real Estate;

● Neil Robinson for Real Estate;

● Tom Stephenson for both Labor and Employment Law and General Commercial Litigation;

● Tom Tisdale for General Commercial Litigation

All were named among the state’s top three attorneys in their respective practice areas.  “The fact that we have so many lawyers, representing so many practice areas reinforces our strength as a law firm which serves the multiple needs of growing businesses.,” said Leighton Lord, board chairman of Nexsen Pruet. “We congratulate everyone who is listed.”

The Firm itself also ranks high.  For the fourth straight year, Nexsen Pruet’s corporate/mergers and acquisitions, real estate law, and general commercial litigation practices were ranked No. 1, while the employment practice was rated No. 2.  Achieving a #2 in employment law for a full-service firm is a big accomplishment, says Lord.  Many of our chief competitors in employment law are boutique law firms which focus only on employment law.  We find that our clients find value in having one law firm handle all of their needs.
