Lexington County Fire Service kicks off annual Jeff Chavis Boot Drive

September 22, 2016

Lexington County Fire Service firefighters will be stationed at various locations throughout Lexington County beginning Thursday, Sept. 22, to kick off the annual Jeff Chavis Boot Drive.

The drive supports the Jeffrey Vaden Chavis House, named in honor of Jeff Chavis, a Lexington County firefighter who died in the line of duty in 2001. Since then, LCFS has raised over $1.5 million to support the support center, located in Augusta, Ga., which provides free shelter and food for the families of burn victims being treated at the Augusta Burn Center.

Firefighters will be stationed at the following locations:

·         Platt Springs Road & Emmanuel Church Road

·         Intersection of Pine Street and Ramblin Road

·         Pine Street and Main Street

·         Juniper Springs Road and Two Notch Road

·         West Columbia WalMart

·         Intersection of Oak Drive and Mineral Springs Road

·         Columbia Avenue and West Main Street

·         Intersection of Amicks Ferry Road and Highway 76

·         Intersection of South Lake Drive and Knoll Station Drive

·         Intersection of Church Street and East 1st Street

Firefighters will be collecting donations from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

We thank everyone for their continued support of such a phenomenal cause!
