Lexington District One teachers earn national certification

River Bluff High Social Studies Teacher Anastasia Sease earned her National Board Certification recently, while 12 Lexington County School District One teachers renewed their National Board Certification. Certifications remain valid for 10 years.
Sease received her certification in Social Studies–History/Adolescence and Young Adulthood.
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards released the list of new National Board Certified Teachers as well as those who renewed their certification on December 16, 2016.
According to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the certification process is created by teachers, uses National Board standards, allows peers to review applications and takes into account multiple factors of effective instruction. Candidates must reflect on their classroom methods and measure their mastery of subject material. They must also submit an extensive portfolio with videos of teaching, lesson plans and student work samples.

Bustle, Red Bank Elementary Teacher Alecia Clamp, Meadow Glen Elementary Teacher Sabra S. Denny, Red Bank Elementary Teacher Stephanie A. Herring, White Knoll High Teacher Christine S. Palmer, White Knoll High Teacher Susan S. Scott and Lake Murray Elementary Teacher Blair B. Wells.
