Lexington One Honors 2014 Graduates

LEXINGTON, SC — Lexington County School District One honors more than 1,400 graduates from the district’s five high schools on Saturday, May 31, 2014, and Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the University of South Carolina’s Coliseum located at 701 Assembly Street in Columbia, South Carolina. At this time, these students have earned more than $37 million in scholarships.

On Saturday, students from Lexington High graduate at 8 a.m., Pelion High at noon and White Knoll High at 4 p.m. On Sunday, students from River Bluff High graduate at 1 p.m., while students from Gilbert High graduate at 5 p.m.

 

Here are some interesting facts about each graduating class.

– GHS — 200 graduates with about $5.5 million in scholarships

Twenty-seven students in this graduating class have parents employed across the district with Lexington One.

 

– LHS — 553 graduates with about $13.6 million in scholarships

This graduating class has two National Merit Scholars, five National Merit Finalists, one National Achievement Finalist and one perfect ACT score.

 

– PHS — 158 graduates with more than $4 million in scholarships

Members of the class of 2014 won multiple state championships in athletics and performing arts this year. The school also had a record number of Palmetto Fellows qualifiers.

 

– RBHS — 129 graduates with more than $2.8 million in scholarships

This is the first graduating class for this new high school. These students chose to attend RBHS for their senior year.

 

– WKHS — 428 graduates with more than $11.5 million in scholarships

The GPAs of the top three graduates in this graduating class are separated by mere hundredths of a point.
