Liberty Fellowship names new Board of Directors

Seven leaders from across South Carolina make up the new Board of Directors for Liberty Fellowship, with Co-founder Hayne Hipp serving as Chair Emeritus. Active in Liberty Fellowship a combined 50 years, each of the new directors has a long-term commitment to South Carolina, borne out through the issues they tackle at the community and state level.

“This is a group of accomplished, yet unique individuals who have shown a relentless drive to push South Carolina to its potential,” commented Liberty Fellowship President & CEO Luanne Runge. “That is the vision for Liberty Fellowship, and their tremendous experience and expertise will be of great benefit to the organization.”

The Board members are:

• Michael Johnson (Chair) – President and CEO of Cox Industries, Inc. in Orangeburg
• Russell Booker (Vice Chair) – Superintendent of Spartanburg School District 7
• David Dukes – Partner with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia
• Sam Erwin – United Community Bank Regional President – Upstate South Carolina in Greenville
• Julie Medich – Shareholder with Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in Charleston
• Faith Polkey, MD – Chief of Pediatrics with Beaufort-Jasper-Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc.
• Luanne Runge – President & CEO of Liberty Fellowship in Greenville

The new directors will begin serving their terms in the fall, taking the reins from the Founding Board of Directors, most of whom have served since the program’s inception in 2004. Those directors are Anna Kate Hipp, Benjamin Bernard Dunlap, Walter Isaacson, Philip Lader, Anne Graham Masters, Frank Mood, Michael Riordan, Billy Webster and Ambassador David Wilkins.
