Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) announced the launch of eRCA, an online Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training course, through its education entity, Life Cycle Institute. RCA is a problem-solving methodology for preventing recurring failures, losses, and downtime. It is commonly used in industrial and manufacturing settings to improve operating performance.
eRCA is a primary training tool to help reliability and maintenance teams take a holistic, program approach to solve problems and prevent recurring failures. The course introduces an RCA program model that helps teams classify problems, select the appropriate root cause analysis tools, facilitate RCA events, validate countermeasures and communicate benefits from solving problems and preventing recurring failures. Applying the best practices taught in eRCA will promote a culture of continuous improvement that yields sustainable results.
Like its eLearning predecessors (eMPS, eRCM, and eMRO), eRCA was designed by certified learning professionals who are also maintenance and reliability professionals (CMRP, CRL). Root Cause Analysis eLearning builds on decades of best-practice benchmarking to create a performance-driven, self-paced online solution that offers organizations the ability to:
- Achieve a consistent, enterprise-wide work management vocabulary and knowledge baseline
- Create a set of standard processes and tools
- Validate competency
- Reach geographically dispersed teams
- Offer just-in-time and rapid onboarding training
“With this new online course organizations can derive the benefits of high-quality training in Root Cause Analysis without having to take employees out of the work environment and without paying travel costs,” said Brad Cunic, SVP, LCE’s Reliability Consulting Group. “Applying Root Cause Analysis appropriately is an important skill for reducing recurring failures – which leads to better, safer, and more reliable operating performance and results.”
