Limitless Bricks builds a home for Lego fans in downtown Fountain Inn
August 16, 2026A storefront that sat empty for months on Main Street has been gutted, rebuilt and stocked wall to wall with plastic bricks.
Limitless Bricks, a Lego shop owned by three local partners, is now open at 115-A S. Main St. in downtown Fountain Inn, offering new sets, custom minifigures and light kits that shoppers cannot find at a big-box retailer.
The store is co-owned by Ted Roberts, Kevin Fowler and Matt Sansoucy. Roberts has lived in the Greenville, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn area for about 10 years. Originally from Louisiana, he traces the passion behind the shop back to childhood.
“My passion for Lego started as a kid,” Roberts said. “I got out of it for a while and then reconnected with it about eight years ago and love every minute of it. It lets me relax, and it lets my wife and I do something together.”
The idea for the store came together over conversations among the three friends earlier this year. When the Main Street space became available, they decided to move on it.
“We wanted to bring our passion for Lego to Fountain Inn since there wasn’t anything like this here,” Roberts said.
The shop is not the group’s only downtown venture. Fowler also owns Limit Break Games, located at 101 Trade St.
What is on the shelves
The store carries more than 50 different sets plus accessories, with prices ranging from $10 to $400 depending on the build. Build-your-own minifigures are $3.99 for one or $9.99 for three, and custom minifigures are $5. Mystery box minifigures are also available.
Roberts said the custom minifigures, the in-store light kits and the atmosphere are what set the shop apart.
“I’m proud to have all the sets we have in store, but my favorite sets to build are Star Wars,” he said.
The partners plan to begin buying sets from collectors who want to sell within the next month or so.
Rebuilding the space
The owners took possession of the storefront at the beginning of April and started nearly from scratch.
“We decided to completely gut the whole place minus the back room some,” Roberts said. “We took out the drop ceiling, knocked the wall out of the middle and started over.”
The goal was an experience rather than just a retail floor.
“We hope when you come in, it will feel like you are in a different time period,” Roberts said. “Everyone we have talked to seems to really love the new space and the experience they have when they come in and see it.”
The choice of downtown Fountain Inn was personal. All three owners live nearby, and Roberts said they wanted to bring something different to town.
Looking ahead
Because of the size of the space, the store does not have a dedicated build area, but the owners are discussing activities for children, build nights, birthday parties and competitions in which customers vote on the best MOC, short for My Own Creation. Additional collaborations with other local shops are also in the works.
Roberts said input from residents is welcome.
“We would love to hear from the people of Fountain Inn on things they would love to do as well,” he said.
He described the shop as a place for kids of all ages.
“Meaning if you are a kid or a kid at heart like us, then this is the place to be,” Roberts said. “We want everyone to know that we love the closeness that the Fountain Inn community has, and we are so excited to be a part of that.”
