Live Oak Mental Health Hospital set to open spring of 2023

North Charleston, SC – The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Charleston, congratulates the official naming of Trident Medical Centers New Mental Health Hospital. Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness will be a state-of-the-art mental health hospital with capacity for 60 beds and is set to open in the Spring of 2023.

Christina Oh, President and CEO of Trident Health states, “Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness represents what we admire about the oak tree – their strength and adaptability. Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness represents us returning whole and productive people back to the community.”

Live Oak new $30.4 million facility will be the Lowcountry’s first free-standing mental health hospital in over 3o years and will be located at 3445 Ingleside Blvd, Ladson, SC and is about two miles from Trident Medical Center.

Kelly Troyer, a NAMI associate, and mental health advocate who attended the naming ceremony says, “I love the name Live Oak Mental Health and Wellness. We can now look at mental illness in a different way. We can now look at it as mental wellness.”
