Local authorities working to contain heavy rainwater

June 8, 2015

LEXINGTON, SC — Due to the heavy rains, there has been significant erosion to the pond dam on the property of Lexington County School District One’s District Office located at 100 Tarrar Springs Road.

Although there is no immediate threat to local residents, Lexington County School District One, County of Lexington, the Town of Lexington and Town of Lexington Police Department are working closely together to notify local residents that could be affected if the dam continues to deteriorate.

The primary concern is the potential of rising water that may impact the residents who live on certain roads in the Corley Woods subdivision, specifically the 100 to 200 block of Corley Woods Drive and all of Corley Woods Court.

At this time, Lexington District One administrators are working with a subcontractor, County of Lexington, the Town of Lexington and Town of Lexington Police Department to reinforce the dam.
