Local company on track to donate over 400 holiday hams to families

December 4, 2017

In the past two seasons, Buy One Give One (BOGO) Christmas Tree Company has donated over 275 fresh-cut Fraser Firs to local families in need in the Great Charleston area. This year, along with a guaranteed 100 tree donation, they hope to brighten the dinner tables of over 400 homes.

Founded by a local couple in 2014, Burke and Katrina Limbach, BOGO Christmas Tree Company is not just another Christmas Tree Lot. For every tree they sell, they donate another tree or ham to a family.

“The holidays are often the hardest times for families that are just making ends meet, especially when they have children,” says Katrina Limbach.

“We are trying to create a narrative for these children to look back on- the smells of a hot meal and the magic that surrounds a Christmas Tree.”

The trees are donated to Operation Fir, a local organization that delivers live trees along with declaration kits to qualifying families around the Tri-county area. They will host their donation event on December 16 and brighten over one hundred homes. The Holiday Hams are donated to East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO), and families will have the month of December to pick up their Ham, along with other food items, to enjoy around their dinner table.

Buy One Give One Christmas Tree Company is hosting their lot at 1735 Highway 17 North in Mount Pleasant. They are open every day from 10am-8pm and extended hours on weekends. The trees are Fraser Firs from a small, family-owned farm in Waynesville, NC.
