January 21, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – Oxfam America announced that Mary Louise Resch, Director of Development of the South Carolina Lions Foundation, has been selected as a member of the Host Committee Oxfam’s 2015 International Women’s Day celebration to be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 7th, 2015. This one day event will highlight women who are changing local and global policies governing land and resource rights and actions that individuals can take to support them. The conference features working sessions on global policy issues and culminates with a Hunger Banquet to highlight the effects of hunger here and abroad.

Ms. Resch has been an Oxfam Sister on the Planet Ambassador, one of nearly 300 influential women across the US using their strength and networks to support women fighting poverty around the globe for over three years. She has taken an active role in expanding the membership of Oxfam’s Sisters on the Planet in South Carolina and in educating elected officials on the issues of poverty and hunger locally and internationally.
