Local Pregnancy Center’s Blessing Box Fundraiser a Huge Success

May 13, 2024

On Mother’s Day, the Upstate Pregnancy Center celebrated the success of its inaugural capital campaign fundraiser with overwhelming support from Laurens County residents and businesses. Brenda Stewart, a board member, expressed profound gratitude, saying, “We are thrilled by the incredible response and success of our first fundraiser, and we are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from individuals and businesses in Laurens County.”

A standout initiative of this fundraiser was the Blessing Boxes themselves. More than 140 mothers in Laurens County and beyond received these thoughtful Blessing Boxes on Mother’s Day. Although not all 200 boxes were sold, the community rallied behind the cause through sponsorships, showcasing immense support for the new pregnancy center that will serve the needs of Laurens County.

The campaign raised $15,000 in sponsorships and approximately $1,600 from the Blessing Boxes.

The response to the Blessing Boxes was heartwarming. Those who purchased them, as well as their recipients, responded quickly with very positive feedback. They appreciated the variety and quality of items in the boxes, along with the beautiful custom Mother’s Day card included.

Special thanks go to Sadler Hughes Apothecary and Tapestry in Clinton, as well as Verdin’s Too and the Laurens YMCA in Laurens for participating in the fundraiser as points of sale and pick-up.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our in-kind sponsors who generously contributed to the Blessing Boxes:

  • Aspen & Fig Artisan Market and Gift Shop
  • Berkshire Hathaway Home Services C. Dan Joyner Realtors Clinton
  • Crave Clinton
  • Iva Cadmus
  • Limitless Laurens

What’s Next for the Upstate Pregnancy Center:

As fundraising efforts to build the facility continue, the Upstate Pregnancy Center, operating with volunteers, will continue its monthly diaper drive-thru events, providing diapers and wipes for families in need of assistance with these critical baby care items. In partnership with the Carolina Pregnancy Center, they can also offer pregnancy testing and ultrasounds when the CPC mobile unit is on-site during these events. Additionally, the center is preparing to expand by introducing a series of parenting-related educational sessions.

Stay tuned for the next exciting opportunity to get involved and support the Upstate Pregnancy Center in Laurens County. Together, we can support moms and dads on their journey from pregnancy to parenthood.
