Local Resident Opens FirstLight HomeCare in Columbia

New business to provide in-home care and support services for local community
COLUMBIA, SC- FirstLight HomeCare, provider of quality, affordable, non-medical in-home care for adults, is now open in Columbia. It is owned by local resident Lisa Price.
FirstLight HomeCare of Columbia offers complete companion and personal care services for seniors, new mothers, those recovering from surgery and others in need of assistance. Services include companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, driving to doctors’ appointments, personal care and any other services that help the people we serve stay comfortable in their own homes.
In addition to Columbia, FirstLight HomeCare will serve residents throughout Richland and Lexington counties.
Caring for her grandparents for 13 years, Ms. Price recognized the growing need for caregiving services.
“When I was caring for my grandparents, I realized how great the need is because there is a growing population of people who are caring for loved ones while juggling work and other family responsibilities,” Ms. Price said.
Ms. Price understands how valuable caregiving services can be for seniors and their families.
“I want to offer seniors the ability to live independently in their own homes while giving their family members the peace of mind that their parents or grandparents are safe,” Ms. Price said. “FirstLight allows me to utilize my knowledge and experience to help make a difference in the lives of others and the community.”
Ms. Price has also been involved in several community organizations, including Walk for Life and Meals on Wheels, which allowed her to see how seniors can excel at home with assistance.
Joining Ms. Price is Jack Ellison, who will serve as the director of marketing. Mr. Ellison, an Army veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009 and 2010, is completing his MBA with a concentration in healthcare management.
