Lockheed Martin to showcase T-50A Cockpit Demonstrator at Greenville Operations

Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] will host a T-50A cockpit demonstrator event at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 29, at its Greenville Operations. Greenville is the company’s preferred Final Assembly and Checkout (FACO) site for the aircraft in the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Pilot Training (APT) competition.

U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy (SC-4) will be our special guest as Lockheed Martin officials highlight the T-50A’s fighter-like performance capabilities, which were developed jointly with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to replace the T-38 and train pilots to fly the F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter aircraft.

Company officials also will discuss the T-50 program’s potential economic benefits to Greenville and South Carolina.

The T-50A delivers the fighter-like performance and capabilities to eliminate gaps in trainer capabilities between 4th generation capabilities of the T-38 and 5th generation capabilities of today’s fighters.

Lockheed Martin’s accompanying T-50A Ground-Based Training System (GBTS) features innovative technologies that deliver an immersive, synchronized ground-based training platform. The agile T-50A GBTS applies lessons-learned from decades of training with leading-edge technologies to deliver a cost-effective advanced pilot training solution.
