Longtime Columbia business expands to Barnwell Street

NAI Avant broker Peyton Bryant recently represented longtime downtown Columbia business, The Key Shop, in the purchase of a new building for expanding their business.
A staple to the Columbia area and serving the Southeast since 1925, they have outgrown their ±1850 square foot space at 1000 Taylor Street, where they have been a landmark since 1969. The owner, Jesse Nix, recently purchased the ±10,150 SF building at 1815 Barnwell Street from Commercial Maintenance Service for $650,000. The Key Shop will operate out of ±6,500 SF and lease the remaining space. Their new location is more than three times larger than their longtime Taylor Street store. An official grand opening at the new location has not been set at this time, but will be announced at a later date.
