Lourie Center celebrates National Senior Center Month

COLUMBIA, SC – Each September, the Lourie Center joins with other senior centers across the country and NCOA’s National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) to celebrate National Senior Center Month. This year’s theme National Senior Center month is “Celebrate LIFE at Your Center!”
The Lourie Center encourages older adults to remain physically and socially active to remain independent for as long as possible. To honor this mission, the Lourie Center provides services and resources to older adults year-round. The following events are free (unless noted) and are open to the public.
Wednesday September 2, 11:30 am -12:30 pm
Retirement Planning Workshop
A retirement income planning workshop designed to help make informed choices about key retirement concerns that women face today. Light refreshments provided. Led by Ed Falco, Financial Advisor at Edward Jones and Meg DePalma, Regional Vice President at Prudential. Lunch provided to those who RSVP. Pre-register.

Lunchtime Lecture: “12,000-Year History Park at Congaree Creek”, River Alliance CEO Mike Dawson. Bring a lunch.

Experts from Intel will be on site for individual and group tutoring, questions, and more! Bring your devices-laptop, cell phone, etc. Sessions will be followed by a light lunch. Pre-register.
