Love Like Maddie Foundation Invites Laurens County to 3rd Annual Family Fun Day at Lake Rabon
April 27, 2026The Love Like Maddie (LLM) Foundation is bringing its 3rd Annual Family Fun Day back to Lake Rabon Park in Laurens on Friday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — and the community is encouraged to come out and enjoy a morning of fellowship, fun, and family-friendly activities, all free of charge.
The event, which has grown each year since its launch in 2024, features 36 vendors, including four food vendors, 28 artisan and local businesses, and four Junior Junction kid vendors. Attendees can also enjoy live music, free bounce houses, free family games, raffle baskets sponsored by local businesses, and a free STEAM activity provided by Imagine on the Move.
The Love Like Maddie Foundation was established by Chris and Chelsey Hines following the tragic death of their daughter, Madison “Maddie” Hines, who was killed on October 8, 2023, in a car accident just before her fourth birthday. The foundation was created to honor Maddie’s memory and spread joy, love, and hope throughout the community in her name.
Family Fun Day began as a way to give back to those who rallied around the Hines family during one of the most difficult seasons of their lives. Now in its third year, the event has become a cornerstone of community connection in Laurens County.
“Every year this day reminds me of why we started LLM in the first place — to love like Jesus, to build community, and to share hope with others,” said Chelsey Hines, President of the LLM Foundation. “Family Fun Day started as a way to say ‘thank you’ to the community for showing support and standing by our family in some of the most difficult days we had ever faced. As we honor Maddie, we want everyone to know that God is at the center of everything we do. This day is all about people and connections — but more importantly, fellowship.”
Hines said the foundation draws inspiration from Romans 10:14, which asks how people can believe in one they have not heard about, and how they can hear without someone to tell them. “That’s why this day matters so much,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to share how God has been present in our lives — and what He can mean to them. At the end of the day, our success is not measured by how smoothly the event ran. It’s measured by how well we loved others and how we honored God.”
Admission to the event is free and open to all. Lake Rabon Park is located in Laurens, South Carolina. For more information about the Love Like Maddie Foundation, visit their Facebook page or contact Chelsey Hines at [email protected].
