Love’s Pure Light: The Laurens County Chorale’s Upcoming Concert

As the holiday season approaches, Laurens County residents can look forward to an evening of enchanting choral music that will surely warm their hearts. The Laurens County Chorale, under the direction of their interim director, Matthew McCall, is set to present their concert “Love’s Pure Light.” This concert will take place on November 17, 2023, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Clinton at 7:30 pm and on November 19, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church Laurens at 4:00 pm.

Matthew McCall, a Laurens County native, has a profound passion for music and an impressive background in choral conducting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music Organ from Presbyterian College and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. His expertise has led him to reside in Columbia, SC, where he serves as the Director of Music and Media at Shandon Presbyterian Church.

The Chorale, under his leadership, has been tirelessly rehearsing to bring a memorable and uplifting musical experience to the community. With “Love’s Pure Light,” they aim to transport the audience into the heart of the holiday season, invoking the warmth and joy that this special time of year represents.

The concert will feature a wide range of choral compositions, both traditional and contemporary, that are sure to please all musical tastes. From the timeless classics of Christmas to new interpretations, the performance promises to be a harmonious blend of talent and heartfelt emotion.
