Low Country Herb Society announces September meeting featuring “The Bee Preacher” Tom Francis

The Low Country Herb Society will open its 2026–2027 season with a September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 9:15 a.m. at the Waccamaw Library. The program will feature guest speaker Tom Francis, known as “The Bee Preacher,” owner of Bees-by-the-Sea and beekeeper at Brookgreen Gardens.
The meeting is open to current members, prospective members, and guests. No prior experience with herbs or gardening is necessary. A meet-and-greet social time will be held before the meeting, with refreshments provided by Low Country Herb Society members. 
Throughout the year, the Low Country Herb Society hosts an annual picnic, a holiday luncheon, scholarship fundraisers, and a field trip. The society meets monthly from September through May. Annual dues are $25 and include a quarterly newsletter.
